For you ladies out there that love a nice fragrance, you might want to check out ‘Bombshell’ by Victoria’s Secret. It’s known for its floral and fruity notes which are pleasant to our sense of smell. However, it’s not so pleasant to mosquitos! In fact, an experiment has indicated that this particular fragrance actually acts as a mosquito repellent.
Bombshell, Victoria’s Secret’s Bestselling Fragrance, Also Happens to Repel Mosquitoes
People love Bombshell, the best-selling fragrance at Victoria’s Secret, for its summery blend of fruity and floral notes. Not everyone is a huge fan, though: As Quartz reports, the perfume is surprisingly good at warding off mosquitoes. In fact, it’s almost as effective as DEET insect repellent, according to the results of a 2014 experiment by researchers at New Mexico State University.
Of course, tried and tested mosquito repellent is your best bet for protecting yourself against mosquitoes, so we would always recommend that you turn to products specifically designed for a purpose. However, many people still avoid using products containing DEET, because they believe it could be dangerous. Here’s a video that could help to demystify the rumours.
Reach for the repellent, but in addition, if you want to smell good you could reach for the perfume too.
