What trying times we live in!

We started this business 10 years ago to protect children and families from getting Lyme Disease. Our mission hasn’t changed, but now we must be as vigilant as possible to not only protect our customers and employees from ticks, mosquitoes and other pests but also to ensure that all are protected from the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19.

During this time, we will continue to treat our tick and mosquito customer’s yards according to plan with a few key changes. With schools closed and many people quarantined at home for an extended time, there is no doubt that people will be spending more time in their yards as the weather warms. Therefore, it is very important to continue to treat your yard for ticks, mosquitoes and the diseases they carry. Backyard Bug Patrol wants to make sure that you do not contract one of these illnesses while enjoying your backyard during the pandemic.

Virginia and Maryland are closed for business except for essential services. Backyard Bug Patrol is an essential service and an integral part of keeping our communities safe. Backyard Bug Patrol is Certified in Virginia and Maryland in a specific category called Public Health. Public Health is defined as “manage or control pests of medical significance that pose a risk to public health.” As indicated above, we provide eradication from pests that cause diseases and are an essential service. We will continue to help our customers stay safe during this time.

Second, in order to be sure that our customers and employees are protected from unnecessary interaction and close contact, we are changing the way we interact with customers.

Here’s our treatment procedure For TICK AND MOSQUITO Customers while the virus continues to be active:

1. The day before your scheduled treatment, you will receive your usual email announcing that we are coming out to treat your yard.

2. Once our tech arrives at your property, you will receive a call or text notifying you. We will NOT knock on your front door or ring the doorbell. We will treat your yard even if you don’t answer the phone. If our tech needs to discuss anything with you, he will call while on site.

3. After we treat your property, we will leave a yard sign with the date and time we serviced your yard written on the sign, but we will no longer leave a card at the front door.

4. At the end of the day, you’ll still get an email confirmation that we treated your yard.

Indoor Pest Control/Commercial Accounts: For customers on these plans, please call us to discuss interior service but at this time we will try to treat as much as possible from the exterior of the property and limit any indoor treatment and person to person interaction.

Now more than ever, it is very important that communication remains open between us. As always, please call our customer service line 703-621-7116 if you have questions or concerns.

This situation continues to evolve daily. If anything changes, we will let you know as soon as possible.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. We will get through this together!
