Preventative Termite Control

Termites can destroy your home. They don’t sleep. They work 24 hours a day building their colony.

Did you know that there could be 10-14 termite colonies within one square acre and that a mature termite colony could have 60,000 to over 1 million termites? So, chances are, there’s a colony near your home in Virginia and Maryland.

Backyard Bug Patrol offers Preventative Termite Protection for your yard and home. Our Termite Pest Control is a two-tiered Termite Pest Control Extermination service.

Preventative termite control monitoring stations

First, we install preventative termite monitoring stations around your home. We monitor these termite stations quarterly and look for evidence of termite activity in your yard. Second, if these termite monitoring stations show evidence that there are active termites on your property, we will bait the stations so that termites take the bait back and destroy the colony.

We also offer Termite Inspections

Please call 703-621-7116 for more details about Termite Control “near me” or email us at information@backyardbugpatrol.com for all your termite pest control needs. Combine termite control with our quarterly pest control and seasonal tick and mosquito control!

Termite Facts:

Termites are wood-destroying insects. The Eastern subterranean termite is the most common termite species in North America. They usually measure between ¼ and ½ of an inch long and range from white to light brown in color.

Termites require a constant source of moisture while they eat their way through wood. If you have termites, it’s likely caused by a wet foundation or rotting, wet wood around your property. This can be caused by standing water or from a plumbing leak, condensation from humidity, or excessive runoff. Termites don’t just tunnel through wood. They can work their way through concrete to get to other wet wood sources.

Each year termite damage causes over 5 billion dollars of damage in the US. Proper termite monitoring and treatment is the answer especially in Fairfax, Loudoun, and Montgomery counties.
